Preparing For The ECS Test

For all electricians working on construction sites obtaining an ECS card is hugely important. To achieve this you must complete the Health and Safety assessment, that is the ECS test.

The ECS test consists of 40 questions of which 34 must be correctly answered within the available time (30 minutes). In order to achieve this, you must familiarise yourself with the questions that are likely to come up on the ECS test.

The ECS Health and Safety test consist of questions within the following eleven areas:
- General Health and Safety at Work
- Manual Handling Operations
- Reporting Accidents
- Personal Protective Equipment at Work
- Health and Hygiene
- Fire and Emergency
- Work at Height
- Work Equipment
- Special Site Hazards
- Electrotechnical
- Environmental

It is very important that all 300 questions of which 45 is randomly selected for the ECS test, are available in a form of a downloadable booklet from the ECS website. This obviously makes passing the test a lot easier. You can download this booklet from here.

However, we would like to draw attention to our free ECS Test Simulator which holds these questions and presents them in a similar way as the ECS test. It has been confirmed many times that preparing for an exam with a mock exam simulator is much more effective than simply reading the questions over and over.

Feel free to try the ECS Test Simulator

In order to adequately prepare yourself for the ECS test, keep practicing with the help of the ECS Test Simulator until your result is consistently a PASS.
